Your First Visit to TFT Hall

TFT Hall is an event hall located inside the Tokyo Fashion Town Building (the TFT Building) in Ariake, Tokyo. It comprises two halls — “TFT Hall 1000” and “TFT Hall 500” — and is used for a wide range of events, including international conferences, ceremonies, seminars, exhibitions, and receptions. While it is managed by Tokyo Big Sight, the TFT Building is a separate structure from the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition halls (the East, West, and South Halls) — an independent complex standing across the road from them. For international visitors, the appeal lies in the excellent transit access of the Tokyo Bay waterfront and the convenience of having dining, lodging, and shopping all within the same area. This guide covers practical information including how to get to TFT Hall, where to stay, dining options nearby, and tips for your visit.

Tips Before You Visit

The TFT Building Is Separate from Tokyo Big Sight Itself

TFT Hall is operated by Tokyo Big Sight, but the TFT Building is an independent structure separate from the exhibition halls (the East, West, and South Halls). A “Tokyo Big Sight hall” and “TFT Hall” are in different locations, so double-check the venue name written on your invitation or event materials.

The Yurikamome Station Has Been Renamed

The nearest Yurikamome station was renamed from “Kokusai-tenjijo-seimon” to “Tokyo Big Sight.” Older guides and signage may still show the former name, so search your route using the current station name.

Kokusai-tenjijo Station and Tokyo Big Sight Station Are Different Stations

The Rinkai Line’s “Kokusai-tenjijo” Station and the Yurikamome’s “Tokyo Big Sight” Station have similar-sounding names but are different stations. When arranging to meet, agree in advance on which line and station you will use.

Trains Get Crowded on Major Event Days

On days when large trade shows are held at Tokyo Big Sight or nearby facilities, both the Yurikamome and the Rinkai Line become very crowded. Travel takes longer during peak entry and exit times, so allow extra time.

Different Lines Go to Different Places

The Yurikamome runs toward Shimbashi and Toyosu, while the Rinkai Line connects toward Osaki, Shinjuku, and Shibuya (through service on the JR Saikyo Line). Choosing the line that matches your hotel or destination makes travel smoother.

Ariake Garden Is Convenient for Dining, Shopping, and Hot Springs

The nearby Ariake Garden complex brings together restaurants, shops, and a hot spring facility. You can move around largely indoors, so it remains comfortable for meals and breaks even in the rain.

The Waterfront Can Be Windy

The Tokyo Bay area, including Ariake, tends to be windy between buildings and along the water. Outdoor walking segments are short, but depending on the season and weather, it is wise to be prepared for wind and cold.

Check Convenience Store and ATM Locations

There are convenience stores and ATMs inside the TFT Building and at the nearby Ariake Garden. These get busy during major events, so if you need cash, it is best to prepare in advance.
