Tips Before You Visit

Use the covered walkway through msb Tamachi

Passing through msb Tamachi (Tower N/S), directly connected to Tamachi Station’s east exit (Shibaura Exit), lets you reach CIC Tokyo without getting wet in the rain. This covered route is a convenient option year-round.

Be aware of the Blue Front Shibaura redevelopment

A large-scale redevelopment project — Blue Front Shibaura — is underway in Shibaura 1-chome, with twin towers of approximately 230 meters planned (full opening targeted for 2030). Construction is causing road detours and congestion in parts of the Hamamatsucho–Shibaura area. Allow extra time if traveling on foot or by taxi.

Use the Shibaura Exit when leaving the venue

The west side of Tamachi Station (toward Mita) has many restaurants and tends to get crowded in the evening. When leaving CIC Tokyo, heading out via the east exit (Shibaura Exit) and using the Toei Mita Line from Mita Station is typically less congested and more comfortable.

Haneda Airport Access Line is under construction

The Haneda Airport Access Line — a planned route connecting Tokyo Station and Haneda Airport in as little as 18 minutes — is currently under construction, with a target opening of 2031. Until then, the Keikyu Line + JR combination remains the fastest route to Haneda. Be aware of active construction zones near Tamachi Station during your visit.

Book hotels early during major academic events

CIC Tokyo hosts academic and industry events throughout the year. When large international conferences coincide, nearby hotels can fill up quickly. Booking accommodation well in advance is recommended.

Convenience stores and ATMs nearby

Several convenience stores are located within msb Tamachi (Tower N/S) and its surroundings. ATMs accepting international cards are available at major convenience store chains (Seven-Eleven, Lawson, etc.), but having some Japanese yen on hand before your visit will help you move around smoothly.
